![]() ![]() Now i am super happy with how the engine works, it has fast throttle response, power everywhere in the rpm curve and it's fun to drive!ġ. MCX boost map is an progressive rising map from start to max boost ~8300rpm. 2 Whalenspeed, to expensive with an new standalone ECU, and in my mind not really "Field approved" 3 Precision EFI, always got a bad vibe from them, goes way back when there was alot of disputes on Forums, but regarding their 900 Turbo R tune they should have cred because they published their dynoruns and when i saw how they looked made me decide once again for MCX, Precision EFI's Boost map is everything i don't like with the oem Boost map and Precision EFI seem to copied the OEM map only raised it a bit, and to me it's an junk boost map, i don't like the "Ketchup" effect it gives ~6950rpm, much like the first cars with Turbo, like the Saab 99 Turbo that came 1977, maybe cool for some but not user friendly and not something i want when driving in deep snow, i want my boost as soon as i push the throttle even in low speed and not after a while! Hurricane, never replied on my email asking about the tune. For my new 900 Ace Turbo R i searched which companies that had solved the encryption issue, Maptune says they are working on i, but today other then MCX it is, 1. I have owned alot of Yamaha's thru the years, the first i put a turbo on was an Yamaha Apex MTX 2007, and it was an MCX270 kit that worked absolutely flawless, i changed sleds and installed MCX turbo on all of them, last Apex was an Mid mount with the MCX310 kit, bluetooth connection so i could log and tune anywhere and anytime, both boost and fuel maps, the last "Yamaha" was an Viper 2014, ported head and big turbo, of course i bought an MCX turbo also for that, i have driven thousands of miles and never had an hickup caused by MCX ECU or Tune.Ģ. I had several reasons to why i chose MCX:ġ. ![]() I am super happy with how easy it was to install and how big diffrence it made to the sled. therefore when i went to get the sled going today, the engine was flooded.I installed the MCX piggyback on friday (23 dec), it took a bit more then 1h since it was the first time i had the hood off the new sled. ![]() Where the machine was only in the garage and i only used to fire it up every now and then, i guess gas was building up and not being burned. once you fire it up you should take it for a ride or lift the sled up and spin the track to burn the gas off, then shut the machine off. The mechanic said where the sled is fuel injected, every time the key is turned on, the fuel pump cuts in giving the sled gas to fire up. But its a brand new sled and i didnt want to pick at it myself so i carried the sled to the yamaha dealer i bought it from and they said they'd have it fixed by tuesday since they're not working on sunday and monday, but i got a call an hour after i brought it down there and they had it fixed. The caution light will come on even if the sled was low on gas. Hey thanks for you reply, but there are high coolant temperature lgiths, low coolant lights low gas lights and so on on the machine, but the Engine light was the only one out of them all that would flick on as i was trying to start the machine. If someone could please help me with my problem it would be greatly appreciated. ![]() this means that if the throttle is pressed, or the throttle cable is somehow pinched a little while you turn the engine over, the machine will not start, but i checked everything and the throttle is not opened whatsoever. Another thing is, this sled has a T.O.R.S system. in the owners manual it says if the engine light and the warning lights come on, they are flashing and an error code comes up which you have to report to the yamaha dealership so they can find out the problem. I would just like to know why the engine light and the warning lights are on. The low coolant light doesnt bother me because i know it will go off as soon as the engine is started. The only problem is, when i turn the engine over, the yellow warning light come on and the engine light (self diagnosis warning indicator) comes on but the engine will not start. Once the engine is warmed up this light will go off. This means that the coolant temperature is low and the engine needs to be warmed up. I went to start it up today to move it, and the Low Coolant temperature light comes on as ususal as soon as i turn the key. The only time the engine was started was in the garage. I have a brand new 2009 yamaha Apex MTX, that has never even been driven on snow yet. ![]()
